May 11th, 2025 Sunday Copenhagen, Denmark

 Another beautiful day with sunny skies. Because of the Copenhagen Marathon the shuttle buses were not running from the ship to downtown. Marla and Kevin took off for the hour hike to the city centre while the rest of us opted for a canal tour of the city. Fantastic tour along the boat laden canals, old homes, shops, churches , 15 bridges. We passed the Little Mermaid, Opera House, Black Diamond Library, Stock Exchange, the Playhouse and people everywhere enjoying the day . Back to the ship for some relaxation time on the deck, dinner, Mother Day wishes from all the boys, flowers from Marla and Kevin. Also, Derek booked us hockey tickets for a Canada - Finland game in Stockholm !. Closed the restaurant again 😁

May 10th, 2025. Saturday Alburg

Woke to another gorgeous day - sunny and almost shorts weather. We spent the morning roaming the streets of Alburg and watching wedding parties, families on bikes and scooters, the old and new architecture, cobbled streets, everyone wears sneakers. After lunch the boys ventured out on a Beer Tasting Tour and I think they had a good time lol. Elspeth and I wandered the streets agin, a bit of shopping and then a nice cup of coffee and watched the world go by. Perfect day. We set sail for Copenhagen at 6 pm and enjoyed the scenery all the way out the rivers and bay till darkness just before 10 pm. On the way out we passed a residential area with neat architecture and then the industrial area of cement plant, hydro plant, windmill plant.

May 9th, 2025 Friday - Oslo

 We woke up to another gorgeous day in Oslo. An early start for us with a bus tour of the city which was much more informative than yesterday tour. Our 1st stop was at the Vigeland  Sculpture park & museum displaying the works of Gustav Vigeland. Very Interesting. Then on to the Oslo Ski jump used in the Olympics and it was a long ways up when you are at the top. No takers for a jump . In the afternoon we visited the Norwegian Resistance Museum with a lot of artifacts and details of the German occupation and the resistance work. Delicious dinner on board at the Italian restaurant. 1Gates and statues designed by Vigeland

May 8th, 2025 Thursday in Oslo

 The journey from Stavenger to Oslo, Norway was smooth sailing and we arrived in port around 1pm . Sunny day and lovely temperature. Decided to hop on the Hop On, Hop Off bus for a tour around Oslo . The city has a population of 1.1 million people with construction everywhere , clean city, narrow streets, lots of electric vehicles, super transportation system and walkers and bikes everywhere. We then checked out the Opera house and climbed the roof to the top. The library is next door and the Munch Art gallery is around the corner. There are saunas on land and on boats along the waters edge. Dinner and an early night.
