May 20th, 2025 Tuesday, Stockholm

Another gorgeous day. We have had such great weather this trip. Late this morning we walked to the Island of Gamla Stan which is the old Town of Stockholm with its narrow cobbled stone streets, old buildings, restaurants, shops, squares, churches, the Palace, etc. After walking the streets we sat, had lunch and people watched. And more walking, coffee break, people watching, window shopping , and more walking. Ended the day with an early supper and off to bed . It has been wonderful. Now for the trip home

May 19th, 2025. Stockholm

Our days are numbered for return to Canada. Today we caught the pink tram again and headed back to the Island of Museums and toured the ABBA museum. So enjoyed the museum but a bit crowded at times. They were a great singing group. At the museum you could karaoke, dance with their avatars, make you own avatar, and lots of interactive stations, music, clothes, stage sound room.  Tram back to city centre and off to do our best thing - find somewhere to eat lol . A bit of a rest this afternoon and then we headed out to conquer the subway system to find our way to the Avicii centre for a world hockey game between Canada and Finland. What an evening. Meet lots of Canadian and Finnish fans, fan zone music area, the arena and crowd and of course the game. We were a way out numbered by Finnish fans but all in great fun. Sad to say Canada lost in the shootout . The subway ride back to the hotel was packed and full of song and chatter. Great night

May 18th, Sunday, Stockholm Denmark

Busy day in Stockholm and the weather is great. We disembarked at 8am from our ship the Vela and took a cab to our two hotels, The Freys and the Sheraton. Friendly staff, nice restaurant, small European rooms. We then headed out on the gray line Tram with pink cars to the Island of Museums. Spent a couple hours at the Vasa ship museum. What a story behind the ship that they raised from the bottom of Stockholm harbour 333 years after it sank. Unbelievable to see. We walked back along the water front and found a nice little restaurant for a decisions lunch. Then onto Under the Bridges 2 1/2 tour by boat which took us to different parts of Stockholm which is made up of 14 islands. It was dinner at the hotel and early to bed
